Imported from my earlier blog. YEAR: Oct 2008

We (me, Anirudh Sharma, Rahul Motiyar and Sudhanshu Gautam) started working on FTIR based Multitouch table from sept 2008. Before it we prepared our first prototype that was MT mini with the help of NUI Group. we used it for our testing purpose.

See jeff hen’s video below:

Materials Required (Hardware)-
-Cardboard Box
-Transparent/clear material like Piece of Glass/acrylic
-Paper sheet
-Normal Webcam or Video Camera.
-Computer
-Optional Picture Frame

Software – http://code.google.com/p/touchlib/

MT Mini is best for testing and you can make it in 7 to 8 hundred rupees. Prototyping is very easy.

MIT Media Labs Design & Innovation Workshop India – 2012

April 10, 2012 § Leave a comment

March 26th to March 30th 2012, New Delhi.

I reached Delhi around 10:30 AM and took auto for Apeejay School, Seikh Sarai. From the registration counter I got my I card for the track Imaging on Steroids further it was changed to Sensor Mediated Environments.

After the Welcome session workshop started with field trip and we were instructed to watch common problem, sketch them and come with one or many solution. It was my first experience with working like this. Since in most of the technical schools, there is not such culture. Mostly we keep our-self stuck with projects without seeing its impact.

So we entered in a restaurant and watched people waiting, some communication problem, running for seats etc. and that was the thing we discussed with  each other. Everyone was coming with their own crazy ideas but somewhere there were a fun inside.

Our Instructor asked for the presentation. Both of them were Nan. 😉

Next three days, we all were doing rapid prototyping and the last day we presented the working prototype. It was kind of unique and great experience for me.
